Sybil is a Canadian architect and advocate based in New York City where she is an Associate at Diamond Schmitt Architects engaged in the re-imagination of David Geffen Hall at Lincoln Center. Her interest in the role of design in communities has developed through contributions to a range of projects including public art, civic infrastructure, academic buildings, and arts facilities such as the new Mariinsky Theatre for opera and ballet in St. Petersburg, Russia and the Four Seasons Centre for Performing Arts in Toronto. Her advocacy relating to urban issues is a professional and personal focus highlighted by the challenges and rewards of raising her children, together with her husband, in Manhattan. Sybil has published her op-ed reflections in the Toronto Star and is a member of the Toronto Community Housing Design Review Panel and Ryerson University City Building Institute Advisory Committee.
