Thomas, John

John is the Chief Steward, University Operations, for United Steelworkers Union Local 1998 at the University of Toronto. Since joining in 2012, John has worked to help employees manage their employment relationship with the University. In 2015, John led the Local’s by-law review process as Co-Chair of the committee and helped prepared the Local to meet its current and future organizational structural needs. John is also a member of the Grievance, Next-Gen and 2017 Bargaining Committees and a Working Group for Career Development. John holds a Certificate in Project Management, a Bachelor’s Degree in Justice Studies and a Master’s of Business Administration from the University of Guelph.
