Mary is a Dakelh from the small community of Fort St James, which is located in the central Interior of British Columbia. She currently resides in Peachland, B.C., is a single mom to four children, and a second year master’s student at UBCO. Mary is an Indigenous Advocate for School District #23 and is interested in learning more about cultures globally. Her interest after completing her education journey is to open an Indigenous Family Healing Centre. Her most profound achievement’s that she holds dear to self are, 9.5 years sobriety, a pipe carrier, and is also a sundancer, going into her fourth year of dancing.
