As the Director of Law Enforcement at Parks Canada, Tamaini is responsible for the national contingent of park wardens. Park wardens are peace officers responsible for enforcing the laws and regulations in place to protect and manage Canada’s National Parks and Marine Conservation Areas. Before this, her work with Parks Canada was focused on developing policy that is informed by good science, particularly for managing species at risk. Tamaini previously worked for the Alberta Wilderness Association as an advocate for wilderness conservation. Her academic career was focused on evolutionary biology, conservation, and animal behaviour, and she spent many years studying monkeys, apes, and tropical forests.
