Nathan has been Director of Operations for the Sipekne’katik Band since August 2012. He brings a unique concept of cultural understanding and incorporates this in his management style. Nathan believes that everyone is equal and has something valuable to contribute to our community. Nathan focuses on support strategies such as capacity development for staff members and ongoing training for community members. Before joining the Sipekne’katik Band, Nathan ran a successful consulting business that concentrated on facilitation and cultural awareness. He helped develop and implement the ‘Mi’kmaq Cultural Village’ for the ‘Mawiomi 2011 – Halifax International Powwow.’ Nathan previously worked at the Mi’kmaq Native Friendship Centre in Halifax as a Program Manager. He served on the Board of Directors for the Mi’kmaq Employment and Training Secretariat and the Anti-Poverty Committee for the Province of Nova Scotia.
