Oliveira, Gustavo

Gustavo holds a Master of Arts in Human Geography, with research focusing on corporate social responsibility practices in the mining industry, and a Bachelor of Science in Natural Resource Management and Environmental Science. He has lived in Nunavut and the Northwest Territories for over five years, where in addition to exploring the great outdoors, he has focused his work on creating opportunities and improving the quality of life for residents of small, isolated and primarily Indigenous communities through a responsible resource development and an environmental justice approach. Gustavo is also Vice-President of the largest local under the Union of Northern Workers. An avid traveler and aviation enthusiast, Gustavo enjoys photographing and eating his way through his adventures. A recent highlight was working with the Canadian Olympic Committee’s communications team as a volunteer during the Rio Olympics.
