Heather works as an Ontario Representative for the Canadian Labour Congress to fight for workers’ rights, climate justice and social equity. Her labour activist stems from gender reformation and breaking free of societally prescribed expectations. She is an avid podcast listener and has a podcast of her own, The Virgin, The Beauty & The Bitch. It explores the constructs of gender and showcases people who are reforming gender to meet a more well-rounded view of themselves. This work landed her the Woman of Inspiration Award winner in June of 2018. She believes strongly in environmental stewardship and is active with Climate Justice Toronto and Peel, and is motivated by students, Indigenous Peoples and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.
