John has a keen interest in Labour Relations, spending most of his career working in the Labour movement in various leadership roles, recently becoming the Director of Operations for the Non Academic Staff Association at the University of Alberta. For many years, he served as the National Vice President of the Telecommunications Workers Union (TWU), where he focused on grievances and arbitration. A highlight of his career was creating one union from a number of different bargaining units and bringing non union staff under that umbrella. His passions include workers’ rights and advocacy, politics, as well as social justice. John enjoys baking, travel, theatre and spending quality time with his family and friends.
