Idil is a passionate city-builder and change agent with experience leading grassroots initiatives. She currently manages the Public Sector Innovation portfolio of the MaRS Solutions Lab, a public and social innovation lab that tackles complex societal and economic challenges. A systems designer, Idil has worked on demand-led intervention to reducing youth unemployment and contributed to the design of a community-focused modernization of the Toronto Police Service. A former political staffer at Queen’s Park and a City Council candidate in Toronto, Idil is an experienced advocate and frequent commentator on divisive urban issues who has been featured in print, radio and TV.
