Marie-Lyne started as a school support and family response agent, later working as an administrator, coordinator, public relations agent and director of Je Passe Partout. For the last 15 years, she has been a true ambassador for keeping young people in school in Montreal’s Hochelaga-Maisonneuve neighbourhood. Now in her fifth year as Executive Director, she manages more than 50 employees and about 20 volunteers while maintaining the financing of services and the development of new partnerships and projects. She handles communications for the organization and oversees collaborative links and projects at 11 locations. Marie-Lyne also sits on the board of directors of Carrefour Familial Hochelaga, a family well-being organization; serves as spokesperson for the education committee of the Table de Quartier Hochelaga-Maisonneuve, a community development group; and chairs the Regroupement des organismes communautaires québécois de lutte au décrochage, a coalition that fights early school leaving.
