John has been a librarian for 4 years and before that an elementary and middle school teacher for 15 years. He was born and raised in outport Newfoundland but has lived in Nunavut and the Northwest Territories since 2001. He is currently the manager of Yellowknife Public Library. In his spare time, he likes to read, collect vinyl, travel, curl, act, blog, and spend time with his wife and two teenage kids. He also loves trivia! John has also volunteered for many library and literacy causes: as vice-president of both the Nunavut Literacy Council, Northwords Writers Festival, and president of the Northwest Territories Library Association.
