Sokal, Basia

Basia is the newly-elected President of the Winnipeg Labour Council. Before that, she worked as a Letter Carrier while serving as Vice President of the Canadian Union of Postal Workers Winnipeg Local 856. For over two years, she put her considerable energy towards the Restore Door-to-Door Delivery campaign and successfully lobbied for a postal banking town hall in her riding of Winnipeg Centre. It was held in October 2016. Basia is a strong advocate for equal opportunities and is passionate about the environment. She loves public services, travelling, being outdoors and spending time at the cottage with her partner and their dog.
