A Torontonian at heart, Archana now lives (reluctantly) in Ottawa and works (enthusiastically) for the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE), Canada’s largest union. Archana is CUPE’s Senior Officer for Political Action, working alongside staff and members on campaigns that range from protecting public healthcare to trying to keep water services public. Archana, a political junkie, has worked on various municipal, provincial and federal elections. She is at about 70% wins to losses. In a different life, Archana taught at Dalhousie and the Universities of Toronto and Waterloo. She holds a PhD from the University of Toronto, focused on literature, globalization and cultural production.
