The son of an Ojibway father and Metis mother, Kyle grew up in Winnipeg’s North End, a notorious inner city neighborhood. Wanting to make a difference in his neighborhood, Kyle decided to start a non-profit organization that would work with struggling families while providing a sense of community. Without a budget, Kyle started the North End Family Centre in October 2009 which currently serves 1,400 visits a month. Kyle is working on his graduate studies towards a MBA in Non-Profit Management through Trinity Western University. In January 2013, Kyle received the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal and in March 2015 Kyle was chosen as one of CBC Manitoba’s Future 40 leaders.
