Maria is a globally networked youth leader with a passion for good governance, social change and international relations. Having worked both in Canada and Europe, she has over six years of cross-cultural and inter-sector professional experience and is actively involved in the World Economic Forum’s Global Shapers community, Canadian Slovak League and the International Youth-to-Youth Initiative. Maria recently founded a social enterprise called MicroLeaders to encourage community betterment through purpose-driven leadership. MicroLeaders will feature innovative initiatives from around the world to encourage, recognize and support grassroots projects that are driving positive social change at a community level. Maria holds a Master’s in Public and International Affairs and a Bachelor of Social Sciences in International Studies and Modern Languages from the University of Ottawa, and is fluent in English, French, Spanish, Slovak and Czech.
