A full day of travel yesterday that started with an (again!) very early awakening as our plane was leaving at 7:00 and we had to be at the airport 1:30 hours before… I leave you with the math – and don’t forget the time to load the luggage on the bus, unlaod and wait for the late comers as you are doing the calculations… 
La journée d’hier s’est donc largement passée dans l’avion à tenter de ratrapper, tant bien que mal, les heures de sommeils perdues au fil des jours.
We landed in Ottawa at around 4:30 and faced a long waiting line at the hotel reception as all the study tours were arriving all at once. That left very little time for us to prepare for the beautifull reception that had been prepared for us at the house of parliement.
Le souper fut délicieux et la visite de la bibliothèque parlementaire intéressante. Un petit groupe d’entres nous est même allé voir les discussions qui étaient toujours en cours à la chambre sur le nouveau budget… Évidemment, à 9:30, plusieurs chaises étaient vides, même sur cette question importante, mais c’était quand même intérfessant de voir le processus démocratique en action.
Mais peut-être que la meilleure partie a été de pouvoir aller se coucher à une heure raisonnable dans un lit extra confortable et de pouvoir se lever à une heure tout aussi raisonnable. Certains ont aussi mentionné leur bonheur de pouvoir enfin accrocher leur linge et sortir leurs souliers de leurs valises!
Today, the day was really focused on preparing our presentations for tomorrow and Thursday. I can say we are really well advanced and eager to really put on a great show!
At around 17:00, we had the pleasure of a small circle discussion with 3 deputy ministers of the Federal Governement in the area of Finance, Commerce & International trade as well as Western Canada Diversification who candidly shared what their responsabilities were and answered honnestly our questions.
All groups then reconvened in the magnificient room of the Conference Center to hear speeches and ask questions to four eminent speakers:
Barbara Byers, Executive VP, work congress of Canada
Wayne Wouters, Greffier of the private council
Lorraine Mitchelmore, President of Shell Ltd
Ian Shugart, Deputy minister of Human Ressources and competency developpement
The day should finish with a BBQ but we also want to celebrate the birthday of our dear Patricia, so I do wonder how it will REALLY finish… But, I am sure you will agree, it is ok that we have our little secrets not shared with all our appreciated readers.
The next days will be devoted to listening to the presentations of all the teams to the Governor General and to Annette, our conference chair so the blog might be going a little thiner…

It would be great to see the conclusion of all of the experiences wrapped up in the presentation to the Governeor General and the conference chair.

La qualité de l’organisation de l’ensemble de ce projet
pourrait nous laisser croire que la captation audio-visuelle
des présentations au Gouverneur Générale aurait déjà été
planifiée !
Souhaitons pouvoir nous réjouir d’y avoir accès afin
d’assouvir notre enthousiasme !
Sommes- nous donc à tenter d’étirer ce grand plaisr quotidien
